About

in December, 1834, 24 believers gathered in Hickory Withe, TN to form the congregation of Prosperity Presbyterian Church. In 1907, that congregation united with Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church to form Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church.

Over these 175 years and nine generations, our congregation has seen war at home and abroad; economic struggle and depression; local, statewide, and national turmoil; storm, sickness, and death. We have seen, in the local and universal church, spiritual revival and spiritual failure; theological fortitude and compromise; spiritual growth and spiritual stagnation. Throughout all of these struggles, spiritual and material, within and without-- and through all of the victories as well-- Christ has been faithful to His people. He has seen us through it, and He will see us through the years to come!
