Rev. Cecil M. Wells was born in Rosedale, MS, on October
28, 1949, the son of Thurman Cecil and Elinor Glenn (nee
Caffey) Wells. He married Genie Kathleen Caldwell on June
3, 1972, in Pontotoc, MS; together they have six children:
Kelly Kathleen, Marcy Michele, Morgan Robert, Clark
Houston, Cecily Clare, and Wallace Martin.
Rev. Wells Graduated from Mississippi State University in
1971, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then went on to
complete a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological
Seminary in 1987; during that time, he served Brandon
Presbyterian Church (of Brandon, MS) as Youth Director. He
was ordained on February 18, 1986, by the Mississippi
Valley Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America, as
Assistant Pastor of Pear Orchard PCA in Ridgeland, MS,
where he served until 1989. Following that, he served as a
chaplain in Fort Worth, Texas, until 1991.
Rev. Wells was installed as Pastor of Hickory Withe
Presbyterian Church in 1996, and served our congregation
until 1997. Since that time, he has been without pastoral
call. Rev. Wells now lives in Jackson, Mississippi.
