getting married.
Our historic facilities are both beautiful and functional, spacious but not over-large, and perfect for a picturesque wedding.

About Our Facilities
Sanctuary
Our
beautiful and historic sanctuary, built in the 1850s,
can seat up to 175 people in the existing seating, and
more with additional seating (up to 200). It is
detailed with beautiful stained glass windows, warm
wooden pews, an historic (and original) pressed-tin
ceiling, and beautiful brass chandeliers. Our chancel
(the “stage” at the front of the sanctuary) is large
enough for a small wedding party, with additional
space for attendants at floor level. We have risers
and steps to accommodate a variety of arrangements.
The sanctuary has a piano and organ, as well as a complete sound system with CD and mp3-player capacity. The acoustics are perfect, and the size is just right for a small to mid-sized wedding.
Fellowship Hall
Our Fellowship hall can accommodate up to 200 people for a standing reception, and over 100 for a sitting meal. Once a two-room schoolhouse (the structure was reconstructed by the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s), this historic building has been tastefully updated to include a large hall, a spacious kitchen, a lovely parlor, bathrooms, and an inviting entrance hall.
Wood
floors and heirloom quilts give our Fellowship Hall a
welcoming and comfortable feel.
A small stage occupies one end of the Fellowship Hall, and a sound system allows mp3 playback for background music, as well as a microphone for announcements and toasts. Additional sound system support is available upon request.
Other Facilities
We are happy to open our Parlor to brides and their attendants for dressing and preparation, and also allow the use of our Education Annex for other preparation. Caterers and florists are free to use our kitchen for reception preparations. While parking in front of the church is limited, space behind the property can be arranged to accommodate all parking needs.
A Christian Wedding
We congratulate you on your upcoming nuptials, and celebrate that great occasion with you! Marriage is a wonderful blessing, and we are always delighted when anyone makes this sacred commitment.
We assume, because you are looking for a church to host your wedding, that you are seeking a Christian wedding. What do we mean by a “Christian” wedding? We mean that you recognize that the vows you will take in your wedding, and the life you will live in marriage, is not simply a matter between a man and a woman, but is made before God and in the presence of His people. Consequently, we mean that you want your wedding ceremony to be a service of worship, officiated by a Christian minister, and conducted in accordance with the traditions and requirements of the Bible and the church.
In other words, you’re planning a wedding that isn’t simply a civil ceremony-- a marriage only according to the laws of man-- but a service in the presence of God, according to the Word of God, and witnessed by God’s people.
If this is what you are looking for, then you are in the right place! We would be happy to accommodate your wedding, if our schedule allows. We do not require that our pastor officiate at your wedding, but we do require that an ordained pastor officiate. We also require that pre-marital counseling be done in conjunction with your wedding (NOTE: in the state of Tennessee, a signed and notarized form attesting to the completion of pre-marital counseling reduces the cost of the marriage license by $60!).
